Mondaze No More

I did not, in fact, have a serious case of the Mondays today. I felt refreshed and excited to take on the week…but get back to me on Thursday (feelings may have changed)—ha. I started a little group fitness program with some of my co-workers and tonight was our first workout. It went great. It’s so nice to surround yourself with people working towards a common goal, and it’s awesome for accountability—which is key in reaching your fitness goals.

I’m extremely excited about this new blog. Writing, for me, has always been a pleasure. I feel that I’ve always been better at conveying my thoughts through writing, rather than speaking. I avoided public speaking in college like the plague. Even to this day, I’d totally break out in hives if I was told I had to speak to a large group of people. I know, I know..sounds crazy, but I’m being 100% serious.

So, here I am…just writing about my life and the things I love—and loving it! I’m slowly discovering my passions and it’s created a new sense of excitement. I’m confident in saying I discovered these passions, because I’m truly happy. I’ve started surrounding myself with people who support me and make me a “better me”.

I’ve realized you can’t be positively happy in life until you’re content and happy with yourself. Dream big, travel often, take risks, work for it–Be the absolute best version of yourself.

Aiming High in 2017

I’ve got some serious goals for 2017! Exciting stuff, my friends.
There’s something about starting a new year that makes you feel like you get a whole new lease on life. A fresh start, a chance to forget about the past year and tackle new goals.
2016 was pretty good to me…great actually. I learned so much about myself. Cliché some may say, but I definitely made some pretty great personal strides in 2016 & I’m extremely thankful for that.
To reach my crazy, big, 2017 goal requires a budget. I’m honestly one of the worst people with finances, so I’ve made it a resolution to start a budget this year. I’ve found a lot of great articles online to help me get started. I’m one to just swipe away without checking my account, so I hope to be more aware and “money conscious”. Also, after reviewing my bank account, I have so many things that fall under unnecessary spending–i.e.: Sun Tan City (I never go tanning anymore), 2 Gym memberships (I only use one), too much Starbucks, etc. This girl has got to get it together in the budget category!
As always, fitness and nutrition are included in my goals…that’s a given. I started last Spring taking my fitness journey to the next level, and this year I hope to continue. I want to solidify it as a lifestyle and not just when it’s convenient for me. I also want to be a positive influence to others with their health. I hope to be a good example and inspire others in their fitness journeys.
On a personal note, I hope to be more approachable and have more of a “go with the flow” type of attitude. I’m definitely type A when it comes to personality, and I like to have things in order and planned out at all times. However, this can prevent me from enjoying the little things in life. I need to be better about living in the moment and appreciating the great things in life that are so easily taken for granted.
Today, I’m organizing for the week ahead. I’m starting up a little group fitness class after work with some of my co-workers that will follow the Core de Force meal plan and workouts…super excited for this. Also, as always, I’m prepping my meals for the week ahead.
Right now, I’m enjoying some coffee with some “clean” creamer while I organize.
Cheers to 2017!
